In Quang Ninh district (Quang Binh), floodwaters are receding, but very slowly. Currently, at some schools in Quang Ninh district, teachers are also taking advantage of floodwaters to clean classrooms when the water recedes.

In recent days, Vo Ninh Primary School (Quang Ninh District, Quang Binh) has had desks, chairs, school supplies, and classrooms submerged in floodwaters and mud. After the water began to recede, the school mobilized teachers and parents to clean up the classrooms with the motto of overcoming the consequences of the flood as the water receded.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoan, Principal of Vo Ninh Primary School, said that the school yard is still 0.5m deep but the water has receded from the classrooms. Teachers in the school have to take advantage of the flood water in the yard to wash and clean the classrooms and wipe down tables and chairs. In the coming days, when the water has completely receded, the school will focus on cleaning the school yard.

To help schools overcome the consequences of floods and quickly stabilize teaching and learning, dozens of officers and soldiers of Quang Binh Provincial Police and Quang Ninh District Police were present to support schools in Quang Ninh District in cleaning classrooms. Thereby, raising the sense of responsibility of people's police soldiers in floods.

Captain Duong Quoc Khanh, Head of the Youth Department of Quang Binh Provincial Police, said: "On the morning of October 30, more than 70 officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police and Quang Ninh District Police were present at kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools to support teachers in overcoming the consequences of floods. We consider this the responsibility of the people's police officers for the community's life, especially during times of floods."

As of the morning of October 30, in Quang Ninh district, there were still over 12,000 flooded houses, concentrated in the communes of Truong Xuan, Van Ninh, An Ninh, Xuan Ninh, Hien Ninh, Tan Ninh and Gia Ninh. Currently, the floodwaters are receding slowly, and people's lives are still facing many difficulties. Local authorities are focusing on implementing relief work, not letting people lack food during the flooding period.

In addition, for residential areas where floodwaters are almost completely receding, local authorities advise people to monitor the water, clean their houses and belongings as the water recedes to take advantage of the floodwater. According to the experience of people in flooded areas, when the water recedes, people take advantage of floodwaters to push mud out of their houses and out of their yards; do not wait for the water to completely recede before cleaning, as the mud will then accumulate, making it difficult to clean the house./.
