With more than 20 days left until Tet At Ty 2025, on many streets of Hanoi, there are many flower and ornamental plant shops for sale.

Along the sidewalk of Lac Long Quan Street (Hanoi), the brilliant colors of peach blossoms, kumquats, grapefruits... create a feeling of Tet approaching.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (Soc Son, Hanoi) shared: "Every year my family buys enough kumquat and peach trees to keep in the house to make it beautiful, hoping for a lucky new year. I see that the tree market this year is very beautiful but the prices are a bit high, I have gone around and still haven't bought any trees."

Anh Thu - a kumquat seller said: "The price of kumquat trees this year before Tet has increased compared to last year, small pots increased by about 1 - 2 million, large pots from 5 - 7 million. Bonsai kumquat products combined with driftwood cost from 60 - 100 million VND, this year due to the storm, beautiful products are rare and difficult to buy."

Kumquat tree combined with driftwood is a unique product, chosen by the "rich" to buy for Tet in recent years.

Unique kumquat pots grafted from driftwood costing up to hundreds of millions of dong are displayed by gardeners to serve the Tet needs of the capital's residents.

Besides kumquat, the pink color of peach blossom also adds to the brilliant Tet atmosphere.

''Business is very sluggish at the moment, we haven't seen many customers. Peach blossoms are mainly rented by companies and businesses to display for Tet,'' a trader shared.

According to traders, peach prices have increased significantly this year, ranging from 2 to 5 million VND for trees about 2 meters high. For trees with beautiful shapes, prices can increase to nearly ten million VND.

Most of the large, beautiful trees were booked very early.

In recent years, in addition to peach and kumquat blossoms, Hanoians have also grown apricot blossoms - a typical flower of the South. However, due to differences in regional weather, the flowers are currently being kept warm by traders to bloom in time for Tet.

Southern yellow apricot blossoms, sold early in Hanoi for Tet, cost from 3 to 10 million VND/pot. However, at apricot blossom selling points, there are still only a few people coming in to buy.

Dozens of Dien grapefruit bonsai trees with heavy branches were put up for sale early on the sidewalk of Lac Long Quan street to serve customers on the occasion of Tet At Ty 2025, some trees cost up to 70 million VND.

This is also the time when people start shopping for ornamental plants and flowers to decorate for spring.

Mr. Lo Van Dung (Me Linh flower village) said: "This year's market economy is difficult, so I only sell rose pots under 5 million VND. The price of roses this year has also increased slightly."

Traders said that normally, flower and ornamental plant markets will be bustling after the Kitchen God Festival (December 23). Currently, the trading scene at peach and kumquat selling points... is still sparse.
