Vietnam Boxing officially informs about the federation's leadership

(NLDO) - The Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) requests that individuals and organizations not post information until there is an official conclusion.

On the afternoon of September 5, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) held an online meeting to discuss the activities and hot spots of Vietnamese boxing in recent times. The important activity in the remaining months of 2025 is to focus on organizing the National Championship in Ho Chi Minh City (from October 2 to 12).

VBF is also actively preparing the national team to be ready for the 33rd SEA Games and future international tournaments. This is the top priority of Vietnamese boxing in 2025.

Regarding the long absence of VBF President Liu Xiubao from Vietnam, even being rumored to be related to international criminal organizations, VBF explained: Mr. Liu Xiubao went to the US for family matters since February 2025 and had to deal with some personal matters so he could not return to Vietnam for the time being.

Ensure work goes smoothly according to plan

According to the VBF charter, Mr. Luu Tu Bao will sign a power of attorney, handing over the authority to manage the federation's activities to VBF Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Duy Hung, from the date of receiving the power of attorney until the end of March 2026.

If due to force majeure, it is not possible to have a written authorization signed by Mr. Luu Tu Bao, VBF will still hand over the right to operate the federation to Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, ensuring that work proceeds smoothly as planned.

Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Duy Hung will temporarily run the federation.

Up to this point, VBF has not received any written notification from the authorities regarding Mr. Liu Xiu Bao's personal activities in the past, or during the time he was not in Vietnam. VBF is not responsible for the non-professional activities of its members, including Mr. Liu Xiu Bao.

In case Mr. Luu Tu Bao has to receive official written decisions from domestic or international authorities on violations of the law, VBF will discuss and propose to the ministries (Vietnam Sports Administration, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Home Affairs ) to request permission to hold an extraordinary congress to elect a new president, ensuring the direction, operation and smooth implementation of all VBF activities in accordance with legal regulations.

There is no official information from domestic and international authorities about Mr. Liu Xiubao.

Along with authorizing Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung as the official spokesman for all activities of the federation, VBF also requests that individuals and organizations, until there is an official conclusion from domestic and foreign authorities, do not post information lacking a legal basis that affects the reputation of individuals and the VBF collective.
