Launching the Professional Farmers Association and disbursing the Farmers Support Fund

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the afternoon of August 28, the Farmers' Association (FA) of Thanh Hoa province coordinated with the FAs of Bim Son and Quang Trung wards to disburse capital from the Farmer Support Fund and establish two vocational FAs.

Representatives of the Provincial Farmers' Association disbursed funds to farmers participating in the "Free-range chicken farming" project in Quang Trung ward.

Accordingly, the Provincial Farmers' Association has disbursed 1 billion VND to 8 households participating in the project "Raising free-range chickens" in Quang Trung ward and 5 households participating in the project "Raising and processing commercial snails" in Bim Son ward. On average, each household is able to borrow from 50-100 million VND for a period of 2 years. Households that receive loans do not have to mortgage assets, and can also receive support from the Provincial Farmers' Association in terms of science and technology, experience exchange... to apply to the project. The counterpart source is infrastructure, barns, and ponds.

Previously, households raising and processing apple snails had successfully implemented green-legged shrimp farming projects, bringing good income to farmers.

Currently, the Farmer Support Fund projects are lending to 996 households with 447 projects. Most of the projects supported by loans are in line with the local socio-economic development orientation, with the participation of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations. The Farmer Support Fund Executive Board closely follows the actual situation of the locality and the loan needs of members and farmers to select projects suitable for each region.

The implementation of the first loan project requires 100% of the projects to establish production-linked cooperatives and professional farmer groups, moving towards building and establishing cooperatives and branches, professional farmer groups; associated with commodity development, building product brands, OCOP and VietGAP products, ensuring food safety and environmental protection. Up to now, the projects have been highly effective and have been replicated because the capital has been invested in lending to the right subjects and for the right purposes.
