Yesterday, January 5, the Vietnamese team met Thailand in the final of the AFF Cup 2024. As a young person, every time the Vietnamese team takes the field, I feel my heart beat faster, as if I am in tune with millions of other hearts pouring into one place: the field.

Not only because we are passionate fans, but because every match, every goal, or every emotional tear when seeing Xuan Son fight until his leg broke, is an indispensable part of the story about the faith and love for the Fatherland of our young generation.

Happiness exploded, cheers echoed from every corner after the final whistle blew.

But then, there was something more special than that feeling of victory. It was in the eyes of the young people that I felt not simply the excitement of the moment of victory, but a lasting belief in the team's ability - to change, to grow and to overcome any challenge.

Actually, football to me is not just about the moves on the field but also about lessons about solidarity, perseverance and belief in one's own abilities.

The Vietnamese team is not the strongest team in the world , but with each victory, we see that strength comes not only from physique or experience, but also from the heart, from the desire and undying belief in the development of the country.

The victory of the team at this time is no longer simply the result of the players on the field, but the result of a collective, of all the children of Vietnam who are striving every day to build a strong country.

That is what I and probably many other young people feel. We believe that this country can go further, and we also believe that each of us can contribute to that rise.

Crowds of people poured into the streets with red flags with yellow stars, car horns blaring, faces beaming. I realized I was no longer alone in those feelings.

Going out to "storm" the streets seems to be just a temporary moment of joy, but in my heart, it is a symbol of a belief that will never fade. We are not only happy for the team's victory, but we are happy for what the team represents. That is the resilient spirit, the indomitable will and the pride of this country.

And when I see my peers, who have never met each other, sharing the same feelings during the "storms", I am sure that love for this country has no distance.

I know, it doesn't always come, and not every game is easy. But what I've learned from football, from these moments, is that no matter what, we always have faith in our abilities and in our country.

The players do not just play to win, but they also carry a greater mission. They are the ones who inspire, who represent a strong and ever-evolving image of Vietnam.

Love for the Fatherland to me is a very real thing, not just slogans or empty sayings.

When we look at the way the Vietnamese team has overcome extraordinary adversity, we see ourselves, we see faith and hope. It is love for this country, it is belief in what we can do. And that is what will take us, the young people, further, not only in sport but in every other area of life.

Immediately after the second leg of the AFF Cup 2024 final ended with the victory of the Vietnamese team, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter of commendation to the team.
