Dress up and celebrate Kate Festival 2023

On October 13, the Cham Huu Duc Village Customs Council, Phuoc Huu Commune (Ninh Phuoc) organized a procession of the goddess Po Inư Nưgar and welcomed the Kate Festival 2023 in a joyful, economical and safe spirit. Comrade Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and leaders of departments and branches attended to congratulate local officials and people on a joyful and happy Kate Festival.

Mr. La Van Diem, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Kate Huu Duc Festival, said: The Cham Huu Duc people currently have 2,191 households with 10,024 people. People's lives depend on the income from 450 hectares of rice fields with 3 rice crops combined with livestock farming, ensuring a prosperous life. Many families invest in raising their children to become doctors, engineers, teachers, and scientists . The whole village has only 50 poor households due to old age, loneliness, and loss of labor capacity, accounting for 2.2% of the total number of households in the village. Kate is an opportunity for children studying and living in regions in and outside the country to return to reunite with their families, visit relatives, and visit temples. The Kate Festival is an occasion for the Cham people to remember their ancestors and pray for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, good crops, peaceful villages, and happy families. This year, the summer-autumn rice crop had a good harvest and good prices, so people celebrated the Kate Festival 2023 happily, economically, healthily, and safely.

The procession of the goddess Po Inư Nưgar took place on a large ceremonial ground with a special folk song and dance program performed by over 400 Cham artists and musicians. This is a folk festival held on the occasion of Kate every year, attracting many Brahmin dignitaries and local Cham people to participate. The procession of the costumes and the celebration of the Kate Festival 2023 in the Cham village of Huu Duc attracted thousands of tourists and local people to watch.
