These two new models follow the 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB versions launched in March, marking a significant step forward for Samsung’s highest-capacity PCIe SSD product ever, providing massive storage options for gamers, content creators, and professionals who demand exceptional speed and reliability.
Thanks to the PCIe 5.0 interface, the 8 TB models deliver outstanding performance with sequential read speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 13,400 MB/s, double the previous generation of PCIe 4.0. Random read/write speeds are also impressive, reaching up to 2,200K IOPS and 2,600K IOPS, respectively - suitable for demanding workloads. Based on the PCIe 5.0 interface, both models are optimized for ultra-low latency, reducing loading times and ensuring smooth gaming even in the most demanding environments. The heatsink version adds thermal management for stable performance during long-term use.
The new 8TB option offers ample storage for large game libraries. An 8TB SSD could fit around 80 popular PC games, based on an average of 90.6GB of storage for the top 11 games from Steam's "Best of 2024: New Releases" list. Or it could store around a thousand 4K documentaries (averaging around 7GB each).
With this expansion, Samsung continues to affirm its commitment to providing advanced storage solutions that meet the increasing demands of modern computing.
