Construction of Tan Phu - Bao Loc and Bao Loc expressways is about to start

On May 27, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that it had issued a document requesting the Provincial Traffic Project Management Board to coordinate with the People's Committees of relevant districts and cities to urgently organize and simultaneously implement the site clearance marker placement in the field (temporary marker placement) according to the design plan handed over to the locality as a basis for preparing documents and procedures for site clearance compensation for the Tan Phu - Bao Loc and Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway projects.

The province requires this work to be completed before June 30 to complete the documents and procedures to start the project in September 2023.

The two completed expressways will connect to the Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway leading to Da Lat city.

Also according to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the project to build Tan Phu - Bao Loc and Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressways identified as a key project according to the Resolution of the 11th Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025. Completing the documents and procedures to start the project is a particularly important political task of the province in 2023. However, the progress of preparing the project feasibility study report and implementing a number of other related documents and procedures is very slow, not meeting the requirements.

The Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway construction investment project has a length of about 66km (11km in Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province; 55km in Lam Dong province - passing through the districts: Da Teh, Da Huoai, Bao Lam and Bao Loc city). The route is invested and built according to expressway standards (TCVN 5729:2012), with a design speed of 80km/hour. In the phased phase, the roadbed width is arranged to be 17m with 4 car lanes. The total investment in the phased phase is 17,200 billion VND (State capital participating in the project is 6,500 billion VND, of which the central budget is 2,000 billion VND and Lam Dong province budget is 4,500 billion VND); investor equity is 1,605 billion VND and 9,095 billion VND from mobilized sources). The completed phase has a roadbed width of 22m (4 car lanes and 2 continuous emergency lanes).

Meanwhile, the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway project has a length of 73.4km, starting point intersecting with Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway and ending point intersecting with Bao Loc - Lien Khuong expressway; passing through Bao Loc city and the districts: Bao Lam, Di Linh, Duc Trong. The route is invested and built according to expressway standards (TCVN 5729:2012), designed speed of 100km/hour. The scale of the completed phase cross-section is 4 lanes with a roadbed width of 24.75m; investment phase 1 with a roadbed width of 17m, operating speed of 80km/hour, about 4 - 5km with emergency stops arranged in the same direction of traffic. The project has a total investment of about 19,521 billion VND in phase 1 (State capital is about 7,761 billion VND, of which the provincial budget is about 4,000 billion VND).

The two expressway projects are being implemented to gradually build a synchronous infrastructure system, improve connectivity, shorten the connection time of the Central Highlands provinces with the key economic region in the South and the economic, social and industrial centers along National Highway 20. Improve the capacity of transporting goods, trade and foreign affairs, meet the increasing demand, reduce congestion and traffic accidents for National Highway 20 which is in a state of overload, especially traffic black spots in the Bao Loc pass area.

Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway is the only one in Lam Dong at present.

At the same time, when the two expressways are completed (expected in 2026 and 2027), they will create a driving force for breakthrough socio-economic development, promoting tourism in Lam Dong province in particular and the Central Highlands region in general; contributing significantly to expanding space, building and developing Da Lat city into a modern urban area.
