On October 1, in Hanoi, the Forum "President of Vietnam Farmers' Union and Minister of Industry and Trade listen to farmers" will take place with the theme "Connecting markets - Building brands - Promoting agricultural product consumption, contributing to double-digit growth". The event is part of the program series Proud of Vietnamese Farmers 2025, towards the 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Farmers' Union (1930 - 2025).

Co-chairing this forum were Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Industry and Trade and Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

The 2025 Forum "Minister of Industry and Trade and Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union - Listening to Farmers Speak" was organized to concretize the implementation of major policies and guidelines of the Party Central Committee in recent times. These include Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW on innovation and improvement of land institutions and policies; Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW on agriculture , farmers, and rural areas by 2030, with a vision to 2045; and Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW (December 20, 2023) on innovation and improvement of the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

This is also an opportunity for the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to propose new orientations and policies; emphasizing the role of the private economy and cooperatives. At the same time, affirming the importance of digital transformation, building national agricultural product brands and developing sustainable markets. This spirit is closely linked to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; and Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development.

In addition, the forum also contributes to the implementation of Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW (August 20, 2025) on ensuring national energy security by 2030, with a vision to 2045, with an orientation towards application in the agricultural sector, towards zero-emission production, sustainable, green and clean farming and exploitation. This will be a three-way dialogue space between farmers - businesses - state management agencies, focusing on removing obstacles in agricultural product consumption, logistics, trade infrastructure, e-commerce, domestic market development and export, especially in the context of the two-level local government model being implemented from July 1, 2025.

Furthermore, the forum promises to motivate farmers, cooperatives and businesses to access new policies, while contributing to realizing the goal of sustainable growth and increasing the value of Vietnamese agricultural products in the new period.

Before the event, the Organizing Committee widely collected opinions from farmers, cooperatives, experts and businesses. The most concerned groups of issues included commercialization of agricultural products in the supply chain; development of local agricultural product brands; digital trade connections; strategic orientation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the domestic market and agricultural product exports.
