(NLDO)- The Government has just issued Resolution No. 281/NQ-CP promulgating the Action Program to implement Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

The Government requested the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) to preside over, review and complete the general education program, increase the duration of science, technology, information technology and arts subjects; and ensure the provision of a unified set of textbooks nationwide for use from the 2026-2027 school year.

Regarding the task of focusing on building a team of teachers, standard school facilities, and improving the quality of preschool and general education , the Government assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to develop a Project on building boarding and semi-boarding schools for high school students in remote, border, and island areas for the period 2025 - 2030, with a vision to 2035; develop a Project on enhancing foreign language teaching and learning for the period 2026 - 2030, with a vision to 2035; develop a Project on gradually making English the second language in schools. Completion time is in 2025.

The Ministry of Education and Training shall preside over and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to develop a project on teaching languages ​​of neighboring countries; and develop a project on training and fostering teachers, lecturers, and managers of national defense and security education. Completion date in 2026.

The Ministry of Finance advises on budget allocation for investment in building facilities, purchasing teaching equipment; preferential policies for teachers and learners and providing free textbooks for all students according to the roadmap.
