Drink in moderation
We need to know our limits and not try to drink too much.
Limit the amount of alcohol you drink at one time. Limit alcohol as follows: Drink ≤ 2 units of alcohol/day for men; Drink ≤ 1 unit of alcohol/day for women and underweight people. 01 unit of alcohol = 14 grams of pure alcohol; equivalent to 354 ml of 5% alcohol beer, or 150 ml of 12% alcohol wine, 45 ml of 40% alcohol spirits.
It is recommended to space out the doses to allow the body time to process them.
Eat before drinking
We should eat foods rich in protein such as meat, fish, or fried foods to slow down the absorption of alcohol.
Drink slowly and leisurely
Take small sips instead of gulping down quickly.
Do not mix different types of alcoholic beverages to avoid overloading the body.
Do not drink alcohol while taking medication
Alcohol can interact with many medications, causing dangerous side effects. We should only take medication with water and at least 2 hours apart from alcohol.
Do not drive after drinking alcohol
If we have been drinking alcohol, we should use public transport or ask someone to take us home.
Drink plenty of water and fruit juice
The benefit of drinking lots of water or fruit juice is to help reduce alcohol concentration in the body.
Avoid being forced to drink
Politely decline when you don't want to drink or have had enough.
Use quality wine
During the Tet holiday, due to the high consumption, the beer and wine market is often flooded with counterfeit goods. Therefore, we should check carefully before using, stay away from unlabeled wines, unknown origin, containing methanol or other dangerous chemicals.
Get help if you feel unwell.
If you feel tired, dizzy, nauseous, have signs of poisoning or any other unusual condition, seek medical help immediately. Staying healthy during Tet is the best way for us to fully enjoy the joy with family and friends!
