Mr. Vo Nhu Dao, Deputy Director of Quang Nam Lottery Company Limited, said that it was an unexpected incident, due to a mistake by the lottery staff. “At the time of the special prize drawing, the staff in 6th position drew the ball number 2, but when he took the number plate to raise it, he mistakenly took the number plate 5. Based on the name plate the staff held up, the announcer read the number 5, leading to this mistake. However, after discovering that he had taken the wrong number plate, the staff in 6th position changed the number plate 5 to number 2,” Mr. Dao informed.

“Immediately after the special prize results were announced, the company issued the exact prize according to the drawing round as 923352. However, many websites hastily cited the first announcement by the announcer as 923355 without checking with the company's subsequent written announcement of the winning prize,” Mr. Dao explained.
