Vietnam Farmers' Union Central Committee - Lao Front for National Construction Central Committee held talks and signed a memorandum of understanding

Afterwards, Comrade Luong Quoc Doan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, had a bilateral meeting with Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction Khammouane Sipasot. Also attending was Counselor of the Embassy of Vietnam in the Lao PDR Nguyen Thanh Huy.

Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan and the Central delegation met and paid a courtesy visit to Comrade Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Khammai Sipasot, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction, thanked the delegation of high-ranking officials of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association for visiting Laos and holding talks with the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction in the context of the two Parties and two States having visits and exchanges of high-ranking delegations in recent years.

The Lao Front for National Construction also visited Vietnam and was welcomed by the Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, Luong Quoc Doan, and attended the conference, with very profound comments.

The Lao Front for National Construction delegation reported the results of its visit to Vietnam to the General Secretary and President of Laos, which was highly appreciated by him and he directed the Lao Front for National Construction to soon request the Vietnamese side to share experiences in building the Association's organization and mobilizing farmers.

Immediately after arriving in Vientiane, on the afternoon of March 5, at the headquarters of the Lao Front for National Construction, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan paid a courtesy visit to Politburo member and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune.

Speaking at the meeting, Party Central Committee member, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan expressed his joy and honor to lead the delegation of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union to visit the beautiful country of Laos on the occasion of the two countries successfully organizing foreign affairs activities right before 2024, such as the High-level Meeting between the Leaders of the two Parties on February 26, 2024 in Hanoi; the delegation of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone officially visited Vietnam in January 2024; the delegation of the Central External Relations Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam visited and worked in Laos in February 2024...

Regarding the role of the Farmers' Association, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan said that Laos and Vietnam have similarities in being led by one party. In Vietnam, the Farmers' Association plays the role of a bridge between farmers and the Party. Farmers are a great force following the Party to make revolution to liberate themselves, the country and the nation.

The Farmers' Association is the political organization of Vietnamese farmers. During the period of national reunification, with the creativity of farmers, the Communist Party of Vietnam carried out the path of national renewal. During the period of international integration, Vietnamese farmers continued to make new miracles, helping to make agriculture a "pillar" for the Vietnamese economy.

Comrade Luong Quoc Doan also briefly reported on Vietnam's socio-economic achievements; on the organization, role, functions, tasks, content and operation methods of the Vietnam Farmers' Union system; the achievements of Vietnamese farmers contributing to the country's economy as well as to the cause of building new rural areas, building the country and defending the Vietnamese homeland; the attention and leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam towards the work of the Union and the farmers' movement; the attention and facilitation of authorities at all levels for the Vietnam Farmers' Union to operate effectively.

Comrade Luong Quoc Doan excitedly said: At the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union for the 2023-2028 term, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended and delivered an important speech directing the Congress, demonstrating the deep concern of the Party and State for the peasant class and the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

Regarding cooperation opportunities, Comrade Luong Quoc Doan emphasized: Vietnamese farmers and Lao farmers have similarities. Therefore, the two sides have every basis to agree on new cooperation contents in line with the development process of the cooperative relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in the current situation, especially promoting cooperation between Vietnamese farmers and Lao farmers in the process of agricultural development, new rural construction, carrying out supervision, social criticism and participating in giving opinions to build the Party and build the countries of Vietnam and Laos to develop more and more strongly.

Expressing his pleasure to welcome Comrade Luong Quoc Doan leading the delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association to visit Laos from March 5-9, 2024, Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction Khammouane Sipasot also affirmed that the Vietnam-Laos relationship is a great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, which is exemplary, loyal, and rare, the law of development, the decisive factor for the victory of each country's revolution, and the invaluable common asset of the two Parties and two peoples, which needs to be preserved, protected, cultivated and passed on to future generations. The two sides have effectively promoted existing cooperation mechanisms, and at the same time, need to continue to deploy new cooperation mechanisms; closely coordinate on strategic issues for mutual development.

At the meeting, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction Khammouane Sipasot thanked comrade Luong Quoc Doan for his valuable sharing about the role of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.

The Vice President of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction also congratulated the Vietnam Farmers' Union on successfully organizing the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, and congratulated comrade Luong Quoc Doan on his re-election as Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union.

At the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction also briefly shared the role, functions and tasks of the Lao Front for National Construction; the relationships between the Lao Front for National Construction and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Government Ethnic Committee and the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.

Party Central Committee member, Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan and Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction Kham-lay Si-pa-sot signed a memorandum of understanding between the two agencies.

The Vice President of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction also proposed 3 cooperation contents with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union. In particular, the leader of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction requested the Vietnam Farmers' Union to continue to support and share experiences in mobilizing and gathering farmers; experiences in building the Farmers' Union. From there, help the Lao Front for National Construction to soon establish the Lao Farmers' Union and realize the contents of the memorandum. Help build a people-to-people diplomacy mechanism between farmers of the two countries so that farmers of the two countries can share experiences, learn from each other and develop more and more.

Regarding these recommendations, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan pledged that the Vietnam Farmers' Union is willing to share experiences and assist the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction in matters of concern to the Lao side, especially in supporting the Lao Front for National Construction in establishing the Farmers' Union and experiences in organizing the activities of the Farmers' Union and the farmers' movement.

The delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union took a souvenir photo with the leaders of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction.

In a warm atmosphere of comradeship and brotherhood, the leaders of the two organizations, the Lao Front for National Construction and the Vietnam Farmers' Union, agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two agencies.

With the results achieved from the talks, comrade Luong Quoc Doan affirmed that the Vietnam Farmers' Union will do its best to preserve and foster the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to be forever green and sustainable; to make the cooperation between the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Lao Front for National Construction increasingly effective and substantive, especially after the establishment of the Lao Farmers' Union...
