Recently, many drivers have reported that the Nguyen Van Linh section of road through the underpass at the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) is severely damaged, with a bumpy road surface, rutted lines, and full of potholes.
According to the reporter’s records, the volume of container trucks, large trucks, and oversized vehicles passing through Nguyen Van Linh Street is relatively large. However, when reaching this section of the road, drivers must reduce speed to move, so traffic congestion and congestion often occurs.

Mr. Le Tam Long (from Long An , driver) shared: “This road has been damaged for the past few months, and it has been raining a lot recently, so the damage has gotten worse. Cars passing by are afraid of being scraped under the road, trucks carrying goods are afraid of falling into potholes and damaging their vehicles. Everyone driving through this section has to drive very slowly to observe. The scariest thing is when it rains, the water stagnates, making it difficult to observe how deep or shallow the road is to avoid it.”
Many people living in the area are very concerned about traffic safety issues.
“Road repairs need to be done immediately, but they should not be patched because this is a road that is used by a lot of container trucks and large trucks. If we only patch it, it will be damaged again after a few rains and potholes will appear again. There must be a solution to repair the entire road so that vehicles can travel conveniently and safely,” said Mr. Lam Thanh Sang (residing in District 7).

On September 19, the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City held a working session to inspect the implementation of traffic safety and order at the construction site of the underpass at the Nguyen Van Linh-Nguyen Huu Tho intersection (District 7).
Accordingly, the Department of Transport requested the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Traffic Works (abbreviated as the Traffic Board, project investor) to urgently repair the damaged surface of Nguyen Van Linh Street (section from Vivo City to Nguyen Huu Tho Street) no later than September 20. At the same time, urgently repair damaged areas and potholes in other sections...
The HCM City Department of Transport requested the Department's Inspectorate to handle violations of the responsibilities of the investor and related units that caused damage to Nguyen Van Linh Street.

On September 23, Traffic Inspection Team No. 6 (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport Inspectorate) coordinated with other units to inspect the actual repair work. However, the working group noted that the road surface was damaged, potholes, unevenness, and ruts had not been repaired by the project investor.
The Inspectorate of the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City has drawn up an administrative violation record against the investor for not taking timely measures to repair the damage to the road works as prescribed, causing traffic safety problems. At the same time, the investor is required to repair the damage to the road works within the scope of the project.

In the minutes of the meeting with the Traffic Inspectorate on September 23, the representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Department said that since September 19, the unit has sent a document requesting the construction units to review and organize the repair. However, recently, the weather has been bad (storms and tropical depressions causing prolonged heavy rain at the construction site), so the work of restoring the road surface to ensure traffic has encountered many difficulties and has not been completed. The Traffic Department said that it will request the construction units to continue to repair and restore the road surface to ensure traffic before September 29.
