(QNO) - On June 29, in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Provincial Police and Sekong Provincial Police (Laos) held an annual meeting in 2023.
The conference focused on assessing the situation and results of cooperation between the Quang Nam Provincial Police and Sekong Provincial Police. In recent times, although the world and regional situation has had many complicated developments, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, which has significantly affected cooperation between the parties, the security cooperation between the police forces of the two provinces has achieved many remarkable results.
The results achieved have significantly contributed to the cause of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety to serve the socio -economic development of the two provinces and absolutely protecting the safety of the Quang Nam - Se Kong border.
The police forces of the two provinces regularly exchange information and situations, coordinate to verify and handle immigration violations; coordinate and support to ensure security and safety of important political and foreign affairs events, especially foreign affairs activities of the two countries taking place in the two provinces.
The two sides also regularly share experiences and coordinate and support each other in preventing and combating all types of crimes, especially drug crimes, smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, banned goods, and transnational human trafficking.
In particular, the 3-level hotline (provincial, district, and communal levels) has been completed and effectively put into use to serve well the coordination, exchange, update information on the situation, proactively prevent, and effectively combat all types of crimes on the border of the two provinces.
In particular, the police of the two provinces closely coordinated in surveying locations, coordinating the construction, completion, and handover of 16/16 police offices in the border villages with Quang Nam province and the police offices in two non-border villages of Dac Chung district (Sekong province, Laos), and started construction of the Dac Chung district police office.
At the conference, the two units discussed and assessed difficulties and obstacles in coordination work; agreed on key cooperation contents in 2023, including continuing to strengthen comprehensive cooperation in all aspects of ensuring security and order, fighting crime and building forces between the two units.
On this occasion, on behalf of Quang Nam Provincial Police, Major General Nguyen Duc Dung - Director of the Provincial Police presented 100 million VND to support Se Kong Provincial Police in purchasing and equipping equipment for work.
