Creating a breakthrough, elevating Quang Ngai tourism after the merger

(NLDO)- Quang Ngai tourism industry is implementing a series of key solutions, prioritizing tourism development in Ly Son island and Mang Den plateau.

On July 9, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province organized a seminar "Connecting and cooperating to develop tourism in Quang Ngai".

Ms. Pham Thi Trung - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province - said that before merging with Kon Tum province, both localities had formed their own tourism brands, leaving a strong impression on tourists. The tourism industry has become one of the driving forces for socio-economic growth, creating a stable source of income and playing an important role in improving people's lives, especially ethnic minority communities.

Quang Ngai tourism industry is implementing a series of key solutions, prioritizing the development of Ly Son island into a center of sea and island tourism.

After the merger, Quang Ngai province will possess a diverse tourism ecosystem, blending sea, islands, mountains and plateaus. Notable destinations include: Ly Son Island, My Khe Beach, Sa Huynh, Mang Den, Pa Sy Waterfall, Ngoc Linh Mountain... and a system of community cultural villages with strong national identity.

According to Ms. Trung, organizing the seminar right after the new government apparatus was established shows the province's initiative and determination in building a tourism development strategy for Quang Ngai suitable for the new context.

The seminar is also an opportunity to listen to initiatives and ideas from the business community and experts, thereby gradually shaping a long-term direction, associated with sustainable development trends.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri - Secretary of Ly Son Special Zone, said that with two prominent destinations, Ly Son and Mang Den, Quang Ngai has the advantage to strongly develop tourism. However, the infrastructure in these two areas is still limited, not meeting the needs of tourists. Therefore, the province needs to have a systematic investment policy on connecting infrastructure, services and at the same time, innovate the way of thinking in tourism.

Ms. Y Ngoc - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, said that in the coming time, the province will focus on directing key tasks to create a breakthrough for the tourism industry. In particular, Ly Son will be oriented to develop into a unique sea and island tourism center, while Mang Den will become a national-level eco-tourism and resort area.

Besides, Quang Ngai will also promote inter-regional tourism development links, diversify products, and take advantage of geographical and cultural advantages to attract tourists.

Also within the framework of the discussion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province announced a hotline 0946.888.225, managed by the Tourism Management Department, to receive and handle feedback and suggestions from people and businesses on issues related to tourism activities.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province launched a stimulus program and special promotional activities, in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnam Tourism, to encourage people and tourists to experience attractive tourism products and services in Quang Ngai.
