Training on professional skills and activities of the occupational safety and hygiene club for union officials

On October 27, the Trade Union of Nghi Son Economic Zone and Industrial Parks of Thanh Hoa province organized a conference on professional training and activities of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Club in 2024.

At the conference, the union staff listened to the leaders of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Hygiene and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs convey basic contents on skills and expertise in occupational safety and hygiene; propaganda and education work to innovate and improve the effectiveness of occupational safety and hygiene activities at grassroots unions; rights and responsibilities of grassroots unions in occupational safety and hygiene work; skills and methods of operation of the occupational safety and hygiene network; rights and obligations of employers and employees in complying with regulations on occupational safety and hygiene; and professional handling of occupational accidents.

Dr. Nguyen Anh Tho, Director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, presented a topic on organizing and implementing occupational safety and health work in enterprises.

The union staff also exchanged experiences, methods, and skills in occupational safety and health work as well as updated new information and requirements on occupational safety and health work in the process of organizing and implementing legal regulations, measures, and effectiveness in improving working conditions.

This activity aims to improve the capacity of trade union officials working in occupational safety and health, and occupational safety and hygiene officers in enterprises in fields and occupations with high risks of occupational accidents and diseases. Thereby, contributing to the prevention and reduction of occupational accidents and diseases for workers, creating a safe working environment.
