According to Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son, in the first 9 months, the local economy maintained a high growth rate, GRDP estimated at 9.63%. Investment activities flourished with 127 newly licensed domestic projects, total registered capital of over 30,000 billion VND; attracting 154 more FDI projects with total capital of over 24 billion USD. The whole province has 3,140 newly established enterprises, up 51% over the same period.

Export turnover reached 13 billion USD, up 9.5%; import nearly 10 billion USD, up 15.7%. Total retail sales of goods and services were over 163,500 billion VND, up 15.5%. Budget revenue reached over 37,400 billion VND, equal to 105% of the central budget estimate, budget expenditure was over 27,787 billion VND. Disbursement of public investment capital reached 8,788 billion VND (54.9% of the plan), national target programs disbursed about 60% of the plan, the temporary housing elimination program alone completed 924 houses.

The province has started 4 social housing projects with nearly 1,600 units, and so far 82% of communes have met new rural standards. Key infrastructure projects, especially highways and ring roads, are being accelerated. The cultural and social sectors have developed stably, and social security is guaranteed. Tay Ninh has set a growth target of 9.3% for the whole year of 2025, while focusing on improving the investment environment, promoting public investment disbursement, developing infrastructure, social housing and accompanying businesses.

According to Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut, in addition to the achieved results, the locality still faces many difficulties when implementing the 2-level government model. The emergence of additional administrative procedures, limited staffing, and the need for commune-level officials to shoulder more tasks have significantly increased the workload. This is also the reason why the progress of disbursement of public investment capital is slow, reaching only about 64-67%, much lower than before.

To overcome this, the province has dispatched more than 40 officials from the provincial level to the grassroots level, but they have not yet met the requirements. Tay Ninh recommends that the Government, especially the Ministry of Home Affairs, promptly study and adjust the payroll framework according to local characteristics; at the same time, it requests the Ministry of Finance to consider the mechanism of regulating 20% of revenue from land use fees to ensure capital for key projects and regional infrastructure.

Another challenge is the increasingly serious riverbank erosion. After the merger, Tay Ninh is located in an area with many large rivers flowing through it. Under the impact of climate change, 16 landslides have occurred since 2024 with a total length of nearly 3,778m, causing great damage to people and property. Although the province has proactively overcome the situation, resources are still limited, so the Provincial People's Committee has proposed that the Central Government support 2,317 billion VND to invest in 6 key projects to respond to the landslide situation.

In addition, Tay Ninh also requested the Steering Committee of National Target Programs to advise the Government to soon approve and promulgate the Program Criteria for the 2026-2030 period for new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction, so that localities have a basis for timely implementation.
