(CLO) US President Donald Trump received enthusiastic cheers, while singer Taylor Swift was booed during the Super Bowl final. What's more, right after the match, he did not miss the opportunity to mock her on the social network Truth Social.

On Sunday night, Donald Trump became the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl and quickly attracted attention when he appeared on the stadium screen, receiving thunderous applause.

In contrast, Taylor Swift - who publicly supported Mr. Trump's opponent, Ms. Kamala Harris, in the 2024 US presidential election - was booed by the crowd when her image appeared at the match.

Swift was at the stadium to cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star player Travis Kelce. However, the Chiefs lost 22-40 to the Philadelphia Eagles.

After the game, Mr. Trump posted on Truth Social to mock Swift, claiming that supporters of his "Make America Great Again (MAGA)" movement contributed to the boos aimed at the singer.

"The only person who had a worse night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She was booed and ejected. MAGA is really unforgiving!" Trump wrote, sharing a video of Swift being booed along with a moment of him being cheered.

The tense relationship between Mr. Trump and singer Taylor Swift has lasted throughout the 2024 presidential campaign. On September 10, Swift announced her support for Ms. Kamala Harris, prompting Mr. Trump to attack her the next morning on "Fox & Friends."

Swift has also been controversial among NFL fans since going public with her relationship with Kelce in September 2023. She frequently appears at Chiefs games, causing NFL cameras to constantly focus on her, which has annoyed many longtime fans. However, Swift has also been credited with bringing a large number of new fans to the Chiefs and the NFL, especially among women.

Trump, who predicted the Chiefs would win, did not hesitate to mock both the team and Swift after the game, and continued to criticize the NFL's new football format - something he has complained about since the first week of the season.
