Just one day after announcing his engagement to Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce is expanding his footprint in the fashion world. The Super Bowl champion's sports and lifestyle brand Tru Kolors has just announced a new design collaboration with American Eagle.

According to Variety, Travis Kelce appears in the advertising campaign for this collaboration called "AE x TK", released on August 27, along with many other prominent athletes.

The collection, which includes varsity jackets, vintage T-shirts, and cashmere sets, features athletes like tennis prospect Anna Frey; basketball guard Azzi Fudd; quarterback Drew Allar; top-ranked wide receiver Jeremiah Smith; young NBA star Kiyan Anthony (son of Carmelo and LaLa Anthony); and Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Suni Lee.

Travis Kelce said he kept the collection a secret for almost a year. It was a great opportunity to collaborate with an established brand, and both parties were eager to be involved and decide on every detail during the design and creative process.

The collection, which ranges from $14.95 to $179.95, features more than 90 pieces designed to evoke Travis Kelce’s unique style, elevating everyday essentials and transforming classic silhouettes into bold statements of confidence and individuality. These include cricket sweaters, rugby polo shirts and functional cargo pants.

American Eagle Outfitters president and chief creative officer Jennifer Foyle said American Eagle and Travis Kelce were "destined to work together."

"An iconic brand paired with one of the greatest athletes of our generation is a win. American Eagle and Tru Kolors are both rooted in optimism, self-expression and confidence, and we share a passion for helping people feel like themselves when wearing our products," said Jennifer Foyle.

However, the idea quickly faced fierce criticism, with many consumers claiming the campaign promoted “eugenics,” “white supremacy,” and even “neo-Nazi propaganda.”

American Eagle defended its stance, asserting that the campaign "has always been about jeans, Sydney Sweeney's story and confident style" and that "great jeans can flatter everyone."
