SpaceX rocket successfully launched after many failures

The successful test flight of Starship on August 26 rekindled hopes of realizing billionaire Elon Musk's dream of going to Mars and the Moon.

According to the Guardian newspaper, on July 26 (local time), SpaceX's giant Starship rocket had its first successful test flight after many failures.

This is the 10th test and also the first time Starship has passed key technical challenges, especially reusability - SpaceX's strategic goal.

The 123-meter-tall rocket, made of stainless steel, left the launch pad at the Starbase facility (southern Texas) at 6:30 p.m. local time (6:30 a.m. August 27, Vietnam time), amid excited cheers from the engineering team.

This flight focused on testing the new insulation brick system, satellite deployment capabilities and hundreds of technical improvements over previous versions.

After overcoming the re-entry phase – the biggest challenge of each mission – the upper part of Starship safely landed in the Indian Ocean. Previously, re-entry had resulted in the destruction of the ship in many previous tests.

This success comes after a series of consecutive failures, raising doubts about billionaire Elon Musk's ability to carry out ambitious space missions.

Previously, the launch on August 25 (local time) was canceled just 40 seconds before the G-hour due to thick clouds. On August 24, the launch plan was also postponed due to a liquid oxygen leak at the launch pad.

Starship has suffered several serious incidents this year, including two explosions over the Caribbean and a ground test explosion in June that sent debris flying into Mexico.

Still, Elon Musk remains optimistic. On X, he wrote: "In about 6-7 years, there will definitely come a day when Starship will be launched more than 24 times in just 24 hours."
