Both men were awarded Meritorious Artists in the same year, but were both denied the title of People's Artist, causing public outcry. Later, they were awarded the title together with artist Giang Chau.

Compared to male artists of the same generation, Minh Vuong and Thanh Tuan are considered two persistent artists who continue to work and contribute to the profession to this day.

In their free time, the two men still meet up for coffee and drinks with the old members of the Kim Chung troupe.

Thanh Tuan laughed and said the reason he and Minh Vuong are close and "compatible" with each other until today is because: "I respect Minh Vuong's talent. He is gentle and gets along well with friends, so naturally we have been close since our teenage years until now as old friends."
