On the afternoon of January 24, at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, the Ministry of Health held the opening ceremony of the 10th grade level 1 specialist doctor class. This is the 5th class of the program organized at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University sponsored by Thien Tam Fund, Vingroup Corporation.
37 young doctors representing 7 provinces of the Central Highlands were trained at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University for 24 months.
The program is part of the project "Piloting young volunteer doctors to work in mountainous, remote, border, island and areas with especially difficult socio -economic conditions" of the Ministry of Health.
On this occasion, 37 young doctors from 7 provinces in the Central and Central Highlands regions including Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Thuan were trained in level 1 specialties in the fields of emergency resuscitation, surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, infectious diseases, obstetrics and traditional medicine... at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University for 24 months.
After completing their training period, young doctors will work for at least 5 years in poor local districts.
The organizers said the project makes an important contribution to providing highly qualified and technical human resources to meet the health care needs of people in disadvantaged localities.
Thereby, creating opportunities for the poor, people in remote, border, island areas... to access increasingly better quality medical services; limiting unnecessary referrals for treatment, contributing to reducing the load at upper-level hospitals, avoiding waste for the people, community and society.
The organizing committee representative added that in the coming period, in addition to supporting training costs for these young doctors, Thien Tam Fund will also consider and sponsor essential machinery and equipment for disadvantaged districts, consistent with the specialties in which the doctors are trained.
