The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued the 2025-2026 school year time plan framework for preschool, general education and continuing education.
Accordingly, a notable new point is that the 2026 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 11-12, 15 days earlier than usual. In 2025, this exam will be held on June 26-27.
June 11-12 every year is usually the time when localities organize public 10th grade exams. Thus, with the early high school graduation exam schedule, the 10th grade exam schedule in provinces and cities may be pushed earlier to the end of May, early June or late June.

Previously, in March this year, during a working session with the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City on the management of extra teaching and learning, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong said that the graduation exam from 2026 could be organized as early as possible, a maximum of 2 weeks after grade 12 students complete the program.
According to the Ministry's leaders, this aims to reduce the financial burden on families for long graduation exam preparation, as well as help students and teachers be aware of improving the quality of formal teaching.
