On August 11, Viettel Sports Company held a ceremony to launch the 2025-2026 season for The Cong Viettel Club. Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Minister of National Defense , highly appreciated the preparations and determination for the new season of The Cong Viettel.

Also at the departure ceremony, the four gold medalists of The Cong Viettel at the U.23 Southeast Asia tournament received certificates of merit from the Minister of National Defense.

They are captain of U.23 Vietnam Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Cong Phuong - author of the only goal in the final match of U.23 Southeast Asia, along with Dang Tuan Phong and Nguyen Thanh Dat.

It is also the recognition of the Ministry of National Defense for the efforts of The Cong Viettel in promoting the training of young talents, contributing to the development of national football.

Colonel Do Manh Dung, Director of Viettel Sports Company, affirmed: "Entering the new season, the whole team will compete with a spirit of courage, discipline, honesty and dedication - for the flag and colors of The Cong, for the trust of the people and the army, to complete the goal of conquering the V-League 2025-2026 championship."

When asked about the assessment of the opponents in the first round, on August 15, when The Cong Viettel will meet Hanoi Police, head coach Velizar Popov said: "We will meet all teams, so it doesn't matter who the first opponent is. The most important thing is how you finish the season. But as usual, we will be determined to win the match." In the first 4 rounds, The Cong Viettel played at Hang Day Stadium, then moved to My Dinh Stadium. Because My Dinh Stadium from now until the end of the year is involved in events and repair activities that coincide with the match time.

And to achieve the high goal, The Cong Viettel will focus on 3 factors: people - technology and operation. In the registration list for the new season, The Cong Viettel has registered 9 new players including 5 domestic players and 4 players from the overseas Vietnamese and foreign players groups. In addition, The Cong Viettel also signed a contract with Williams Lee Oliver Grant, an overseas Vietnamese in the UK.

This 18-year-old striker is considered part of the strategy to prepare for the near future of The Cong – Viettel. This season is considered to have the largest number of new recruits of The Cong – Viettel in recent years.
