Visa procedures change, false rumors: Overseas tours still sold out on September 2nd

(Dan Tri) - This year's September 2nd holiday lasts 4 days, considered the "golden break" right before the new school year and after the summer tourist season, making the foreign tour market hotter than ever.

According to travel agencies, the atmosphere of "arranging tours and choosing schedules" for the occasion of September 2nd has been bustling early, even bustling since the first quarter, with attractive destinations from Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia to Europe, Australia and America.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, representative of Vietluxtour travel agency said that more than 70% of seats in foreign tours during the holidays at the agency have been registered by customers since the end of the first quarter.

Vietravel Hanoi also launched the September 2nd holiday tour in June, and expanded its international tours from Thailand, Singapore, Bali (Indonesia), Korea, Japan to distant markets such as Europe, the US, and Russia.

Meanwhile, Viet Travel said that international tours recorded a steady increase in the number of visitors throughout August, with many products to Korea, Taiwan (China), and China "sold out" before the holidays.

From young customers who prefer short, convenient, and affordable tours to middle-aged customers who prefer high-end resorts and pilgrimages in Southern Europe, the market shows increasingly diverse travel needs.

Custom-designed tours or free-roaming tours are also growing strongly, especially in the two big cities of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi .

Tour prices this year have not fluctuated much, thanks to which the market is still able to retain a large number of customers - a key factor in the post-Covid-19 period.

Despite the high volume of visitors, not all itineraries have been smooth sailing. Some destinations have been experiencing problems, forcing both tour operators and tourists to constantly adapt.

Mr. Pham Anh Vu - representative of the travel agency Du Lich Viet - said that China - a very popular destination for tourists - has changed its visa policy this year. Specifically, from August 10 to September 8, tours scheduled to Beijing (China) must apply for individual visas instead of group visas as before. This makes tourists more cautious when booking tours.

As for Thailand, although not directly affected, the psychology of Vietnamese tourists is still fluctuating due to current news. Travel companies, typically Du Lich Viet, have to constantly update information and reassure tourists, affirming that prominent tourist destinations such as Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket are still safe.

Another case is Japan - once a top "hot" destination in Asia - now cooled down because of... "earthquake prophecies". False and baseless information spread on social networks has made some tourists confused when choosing to visit the land of cherry blossoms.

However, the unit also recorded a growth rate of 10-15% compared to the same period. These figures partly show the stability and resilience of the Vietnamese tourist market to Japan.

According to the unit, currently, the most popular Japanese tour routes for Vietnamese tourists still focus on major cities and destinations with unique landscapes. Among them, the "golden route" Tokyo - Fuji - Kyoto - Osaka is a classic journey, harmoniously combining modernity, majestic nature and unique antiquity.

Travel agencies also said that, in general, the number of Vietnamese tourists traveling abroad in the fall is expected to increase by 25-30% compared to the same period last year, and the international tour market is on the way to an impressive recovery. Despite the sharp increase in visitors, most businesses are still trying to keep tour prices stable.

Nearby routes such as Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan (China) currently range from 10-18 million VND/person, while faraway tours such as Europe and America cost from 55 million VND or more, depending on the schedule. The price increase is generally around 2-5%, mainly due to flight and accommodation costs during peak holiday seasons.
