WEF is one of the prestigious global forums, attracting the attention and participation of most leaders of countries, international organizations as well as the world's leading corporations and companies. Vietnam and WEF have had relations since 1989. WEF often invites Vietnam to attend annual conferences in Davos and WEF conferences on East Asia.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam-WEF National Strategic Dialogue in Tianjin, China in June 2023 with Chairman Schwab and Mr. Borge Brende, Managing Director of WEF.

The Prime Minister asked WEF and its members to continue to cooperate and support Vietnam in technology, finance, training of high-quality human resources, and modern management. WEF leaders and business representatives said that Vietnam is one of the bright spots in the region's economic recovery, a successful model in disease prevention and control, and plays a pioneering role in transforming the growth model and committing to energy transition.

In the most recent meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia in September 2023, Chairman Schwab highly appreciated Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, especially the comprehensive approach to macroeconomic management, helping the economy overcome the challenges of the current international and regional context.
