Promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Qatar in the fields of agriculture and food industry

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep and Vietnamese Embassy officials worked with the Board of Directors of Baladna Group.

During the visit, the Ambassador worked with the group's Board of Directors and visited the modern livestock farm and milk processing plant located on the hundreds of hectares of Baladna's campus.

Baladna is considered a symbol of Qatar's modern agriculture , playing a pivotal role in ensuring national food security. From a strategic project to meet the fresh milk needs of the Qatari people, Baladna has now developed into the largest producer and supplier of milk, dairy products, juices and premium foods in Qatar, possessing advanced farming technology and international standard management.

Not only serving the domestic market, Baladna also aims for regional and global status, with plans to expand investment to many countries, including key projects in Algeria and Syria. This group is currently considered one of the typical successful models of Qatar's diversified and self-reliant economic development strategy.

At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep informed about the development of Vietnam's agriculture and food industry, emphasizing the key role of agriculture in the national economy and Vietnam's position in the global food supply chain.

The Ambassador shared Vietnam's strategic orientation in transitioning to high-tech agriculture, sustainable production, developing large-scale livestock farms and milk processing to be self-sufficient in supply and reduce imports, while encouraging international cooperation, especially attracting foreign investment in livestock technology, processing and logistics.

The two sides openly discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of milk production and processing. The Ambassador proposed that Baladna and Vietnamese enterprises study cooperation in technology transfer, implement livestock projects in areas with favorable conditions in Vietnam, as well as organize exchange and internship programs on food technology for experts from both countries.

For his part, Baladna's leaders assessed Vietnam as a potential market in ASEAN and Asia, and shared plans to send a working delegation to Vietnam next December to survey and discuss with partners about specific cooperation opportunities.

This working visit opens up new prospects for cooperation between Vietnam and Qatar in the fields of agriculture and food industry, contributing to promoting food security and expanding the presence of the two countries' products in regional and international markets.
