On the afternoon of September 30, meeting with President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President Luong Cuong thanked Cuban leaders for organizing solemn rallies to celebrate Vietnam's major holidays; assessed that the political and diplomatic relations between the two countries, on all channels, have reached new heights, a model of international relations.
Affirming that the Vietnamese leaders wish to deepen and further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation with Cuba in all fields, especially in economics, trade and investment, to maximize the strengths of both sides, commensurate with the special Vietnam-Cuba relationship in the context of the two countries celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The President of the Cuban National Assembly expressed the solidarity and condolences of the Cuban Party, State, National Assembly and people over the damage caused by storms No. 9 and No. 10, and believed that Vietnam will soon overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
The two sides affirmed to continue close cooperation to increase visits, promote exchanges and cooperation between localities and between the two friendship parliamentary groups. Cuba wishes to consult and learn from Vietnam's experience in innovation and national development to overcome difficulties and achieve the same achievements as Vietnam has achieved.
