Fire, explosion and potential risks
Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Ha Ward, Le Hong Thang, said that the ward is located outside the dike, along Nguyen Khoi Street, with many factories, businesses, warehouses and dormitories for students and workers. In addition, households that both live and do business also have many potential risks of fire and explosion due to the use of electricity, gas and flammable materials.
Based on practical requirements, Hong Ha Ward has coordinated with functional forces to develop a training and practice program on fire prevention and rescue on a national scale. The drills, held on September 13 and 14 at the headquarters of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Region 8 (No. 131 Hong Ha), were elaborately designed, closely linked to the practical life of residents.
Here, people are not only equipped with legal knowledge and basic skills to identify fire and explosion risks in daily life and production, but also directly experience hypothetical situations, including: Escape in a toxic smoke environment, use of gas masks, installation and deployment of fire hoses, first aid for victims, escape by rope slowly lowered from high floors to the ground.
In particular, this is also the first time that the Hong Ha ward community has had access to and become familiar with modern means and equipment, such as: ladder trucks, fire trucks, hydraulic shears, smoke blowers, saws, etc., which are tools that only appear in professional forces. The combination of theory, practice and visual experience has helped each resident visualize more clearly the risks and how to respond, gradually becoming "on-site firefighters" in the community.
This is not only a risk prevention measure but also a factor in strengthening trust and cohesion in the community.
People's safety - the foundation of economic development
Currently, Hong Ha Ward aims to take "people as the center, as the subject; put people's safety and lives first and foremost; fire safety for economic and social development, ensuring political stability, social order and safety of the country". Because, just one minute of negligence can cause unpredictable consequences, fire prevention and fighting work must be identified as a key political task.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Ha Ward, the ward has the characteristics of rapid urbanization, dense population, and many developing production and business establishments, while the awareness of compliance with regulations of a part of the population is still limited. If Hong Ha Ward does not tighten discipline, increase inspection and handle violations, the risk of fire and explosion will always lurk, threatening the peace of the community.
To maintain the safety of the people, Hong Ha ward does not stop at the immediate activities, but has clearly identified strategic and continuous tasks. Accordingly, in the coming time, the propaganda work on fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue of the ward will be innovated, diversified in form, bringing knowledge and skills of fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue to each residential group, each school, each household, so that each person becomes the "nucleus" of fire prevention and fighting work.

Not only stopping at mobilizing, Hong Ha ward also tightened discipline, increased inspection, supervision, and strictly handled violations of fire safety regulations, especially in areas with many potential risks such as markets, warehouses, and houses combined with businesses.
The ward will also organize regular training and drills so that people not only "listen and know" but also truly master the skills to respond and successfully use on-site fire fighting equipment. The goal that Hong Ha ward aims for is to build a culture of fire safety in the community - considering fire prevention and fighting not only a responsibility but also a habit, a practical right associated with the daily life of each citizen.
In addition, building a safe, orderly, and civilized Hong Ha will help the locality become a safe “destination” for people, businesses, and investors. This is also the foundation for Hong Ha to develop sustainably, becoming a prominent highlight on the banks of the Red River.
