DNO - The Da Nang Statistical Office has just announced the report on the socio-economic situation of Da Nang city (old) in the first 6 months of 2025 on July 2. Many areas of the city have had impressive growth momentum in the first 6 months of 2025, of which the service sector has a growth rate of 10.98%.

Accordingly, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated to increase by 11.70% over the same period last year. Of which, the second quarter of 2025 alone increased by 11.77%, following the impressive growth of 11.62% in the first quarter of 2025.

With an increase of 11.70% in the past 6 months, the GRDP growth rate of Da Nang (old) ranked 4th out of 63 provinces and cities, ranked 2nd out of 14 localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions and led 6 centrally-run cities in terms of growth rate.

According to the report, in the first 6 months of 2025, Da Nang's service sector continued to play a key role in the economy , accounting for 70.08% of GRDP and achieving an impressive growth rate of 10.98%.

Of which, the accommodation and catering industry increased by 16.60%, showing a strong recovery of tourism with an increase in domestic and foreign visitors; real estate business services increased dramatically by 24.13%, reflecting the excitement of the housing and investment market, especially urban and resort projects. The commercial sector increased by 11.22%, reflecting a strong recovery of buying, selling and consumption activities in the city...

In the trade and service sector, in the first 6 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated at VND 82,398 billion, up 29.6% over the same period last year, of which retail sales of goods increased by 20.2%; revenue from accommodation and catering services increased by 24.6%; revenue from tourism and travel after deducting household expenses increased by 17.1%; revenue from other consumer services increased by 66.2% over the same period in 2024.

The total number of visitors served by accommodation establishments in the first month of 2025 is estimated at 5.8 million, an increase of 18.9% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors reached 2.6 million, a sharp increase of 31.4%; domestic visitors reached 3.2 million, an increase of 10.6% over the same period in 2024.

The number of international visitors continues to maintain a high growth momentum, showing a solid recovery of the international tourism market. The total number of tourists served by travel agencies in the first 6 months is estimated at 697 thousand, up 33.5% over the same period in 2024; of which, international visitors reached 224 thousand, up 28.6%; domestic visitors reached 396 thousand, up 39.5%; Vietnamese tourists traveling abroad reached 77 thousand, up 20.5%.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the average Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 2.85% over the same period last year, lower than the 2.86% increase in the same period in 2024. The CPI increase mainly came from price increases in many groups of essential goods and services.

Accordingly, 3/11 groups of goods and services had an average 6-month increase higher than the general increase, including: medicine and medical services (up 16.73%); housing and construction materials (up 6.27%); other goods and services (up 5.8%). On the other hand, 8/11 groups of goods and services had an increase lower than the general CPI increase.
