This afternoon, January 10, under the chairmanship of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council worked with the Culture - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council on the results of activities in 2023 and the key work program in 2024. In 2023, the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee reviewed 2 reports, 12 submissions, projects, and draft resolutions at the Provincial People's Council meetings. Supervised and surveyed the people's spiritual and cultural life; worked with a number of relevant departments, branches, and localities in the field of culture and society to serve the meeting and conducted 2 thematic supervisions on the construction and use of grassroots cultural institutions and the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritages.

Supervise the implementation of policies on meritorious people and perform other tasks assigned by the Standing Committee of the People's Council, ensuring proper functions and tasks according to the law, achieving high results. The quality of the audit reports serving the session is improved, in the direction of in-depth coverage of each field; the recommendations and proposals of the committee are highly appreciated by localities, agencies and units, proposing solutions to help specialized sectors perform their tasks better.

Regarding the key work program in 2024, the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee builds a thematic monitoring program on the implementation results of Resolution No. 167/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2021 on investment in conservation, restoration and promotion of the system of historical and cultural relics of Quang Tri province in the period of 2022 - 2025; the implementation results of Resolution No. 87/NQ-HDND dated December 9, 2022 on developing the health system, improving the quality of operations of public health facilities to meet the health care needs of the people, improving the quality of the population in Quang Tri province in the period of 2022-2026, with a vision to 2030. Conduct monitoring, surveys, and work with districts, towns, cities and departments and branches in the field of culture and society...

In order to improve the quality and efficiency of operations, the Committee for Culture and Society recommends that the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council pay attention to directing units and localities to implement the recommendations after supervision, so that supervision activities bring high efficiency. Pay attention to reviewing and approving the content, tasks, and funding of scientific research topics to improve the quality of operations of the People's Council in the field, improve expertise, and be proactive in implementing assigned tasks.

Concluding the working session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang requested the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee to focus on reviewing 40 resolutions of the Provincial People's Council on the cultural and social fields that are still in effect, thereby developing a plan to monitor and track the implementation of the resolutions to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency, especially resolutions related to investment policies and socialization work to mobilize resources for implementation.

Focus on reviewing and advising the Provincial People's Council to lead the implementation of investment expenditures in the cultural and social fields to ensure that they meet at least the minimum level as prescribed. Review, research and conduct supervision, find out the reasons why the resolutions put into practice are not very effective. The Standing Committee of the People's Council agrees that from now on, the Culture - Social Committee will monitor all areas under its responsibility, the resolutions issued by the Provincial People's Council in the cultural and social fields, including investment policies, statistics on implementation results, and supervise the effectiveness of the implementation of resolutions issued by the Provincial People's Council.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang acknowledged the recommendations of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee and will direct departments, branches and localities to effectively implement the recommendations after supervision.
