Receiving and repatriating the remains of 16 Vietnamese martyrs who died in Laos

After a solemn and emotional farewell ceremony, the remains of 16 martyrs were brought back to the country by the Military Command of Thua Thien-Hue province for a memorial service and burial at the martyr cemetery in Thua Thien-Hue province.

According to a VNA reporter in Laos, on the morning of May 17, in Salavan province (Southern Laos), a ceremony was held to send the remains of Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers who died in the two provinces of Salvan and Sekong during the war back to their motherland, Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of Salavan provincial leaders; representatives of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse; representatives of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Military Command; representatives of relevant parties of Vietnam and Laos, and a large number of people of Salavan province.

In the sacred atmosphere of the ceremony, delegates respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express their gratitude and deep appreciation to the martyrs who heroically sacrificed for their noble international duty.
