On the morning of May 31, the working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor conducted a survey and assessment of the results of 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee on "Continuing to build the Vietnamese working class in the period of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country" and the action program of the General Confederation to implement Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW.
Attending the survey were comrade Vu Thi Giang Huong, Head of the Propaganda Department, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; leaders of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation; officials and experts of the Provincial Labor Federation, industry unions and equivalent.


At the working session, the Provincial Federation of Labor reported to the working delegation the results of the implementation of Resolution No. 20-NQ/TW in the province. Accordingly, trade unions at all levels actively advised the Party Committees at the same level to implement the resolution, creatively applying it to the conditions of each locality, agency, and unit to organize, implement, and achieve specific results.
Trade unions at all levels have organized learning and dissemination of the resolution, made changes, raised awareness of the position, role and great historical mission of the working class in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, and promoted the sense of responsibility of cadres, party members, workers, laborers, at all levels and in all sectors in carrying out the task of building a team of workers in Lao Cai province to develop rapidly in quantity and quality.
Trade unions at all levels in the province proactively grasp and participate in resolving the opinions and aspirations of workers, civil servants and laborers. In particular, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation organized 37 meetings and dialogues; trade unions at the grassroots level directly above organized hundreds of dialogues, attracting tens of thousands of participants; coordinated inspections, checks and supervisions of the implementation of policies and regimes for laborers in 5,559 meetings.
Promote the development of union members, build a strong union organization, from 2008 to May 2024, 27,785 union members were admitted, 341 grassroots unions were established; over 22,000 outstanding union members were introduced to the party organization for consideration, training and admission. The work of caring for and protecting legitimate and legal rights and interests and improving material and spiritual life; implementing patriotic emulation movements was also widely disseminated, effective and practical, contributing to significantly improving the material and spiritual life of union members and workers...


Delegates attending the conference spoke and clarified the results achieved in implementing the resolution, and at the same time recommended and proposed to continue to have more support policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers, especially those in the fields of education and health; pay attention to investing in building trade union institutions for workers and laborers in industrial parks in Lao Cai province...

At the conference, on behalf of the survey delegation, comrade Vu Thi Giang Huong, Head of the Propaganda Department, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, highly appreciated the proactiveness, active and flexible participation of Lao Cai province's trade unions at all levels in implementing Resolution 20-NQ/TW and the action program of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
In order for the workers' movement and trade union activities to continue to develop, he suggested that trade unions at all levels in the province continue to pay attention to and do well the work of propaganda, political education, and revolutionary consciousness for workers and laborers; do better the work of developing union members and party members who are union members; improve the education, professional and vocational qualifications, and train working style and discipline for workers and laborers; continue to innovate the content and methods of activities; improve the professional quality of union officials...
The results of the survey and assessment will be the basis for the working group to review, synthesize and report to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
