By the end of January 2025, the total outstanding credit balance of the entire banking industry will reach VND 152,861 billion, up 0.4% compared to the end of December 2024, up 14.6% compared to the end of January 2024.
Although the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday is at the end of January, banking credit in the province still grew positively, in contrast to January 2024 (negative growth of 0.41% compared to December 2023).
In addition, outstanding loans of short-term, medium-term and long-term loans all increased by 0.2% and 1% respectively compared to the end of December 2024. Positive credit growth from the first month of the year partly shows the ability of the provincial economy to actively absorb bank capital.
In credit programs, outstanding loans for agriculture and rural areas still account for a high proportion of VND 58,985 billion, accounting for 38.6% of total outstanding loans, up 0.7% compared to the end of December 2024. Outstanding loans for small and medium enterprises are VND 27,769 billion, up 0.5%. Outstanding loans for supporting industries are VND 9,138 billion, up 0.3%. Outstanding loans for exports are VND 7,477 billion, down 0.6%.
Also according to the latest reported data (as of November 30, 2024), outstanding credit for real estate business activities accounts for 5.6% of total outstanding debt, corporate bond investment accounts for 0.04% of total outstanding debt.
By the end of January 2025, the total mobilized capital was VND 214,620 billion, an increase of 0.8% compared to the end of December 2024. Of which, the mobilized capital for terms over 12 months increased by 1.2%.
In 2025, the State Bank set the credit growth target at 16%, 1% higher than in 2024. Thus, the economy's credit balance is expected to be more than VND 18.1 trillion by the end of 2025, meaning the total balance could increase by nearly VND 2.5 trillion.
