Lam Dong Province "names" units slowing down the construction progress of National Highway 28B

On August 31, sources said that the People's Committee of Lam Dong province has issued a document urging the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B due to the risk of slow progress.

Accordingly, the project has a route length of about 68 km, the site clearance area is 68.49 hectares; expected to be completed in December 2025, completing project completion procedures in 2026.

Currently, the project has handed over the construction site to the investor for 61.7km/68km (91%) and 6.3km has not been handed over.

The project implementation value to date has reached about 461/1,083 billion VND, reaching 43% of the contract value.

According to Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B is a key project of the province, so the project's progress greatly affects the ability to attract investment and socio -economic development in the province.

"However, the actual construction progress at the site is still slow. Many sections have land but have not yet organized construction, and have not yet arranged enough workers, machinery, and construction equipment for the project; there are still some locations that have not yet cleared the land; some problems that have arisen during the implementation process have not been promptly resolved by the coordination of departments, branches, and units" - Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee stated.

Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee requires units to seriously learn from experience in coordination between investors, People's Committees of communes where the road passes through, and relevant agencies in project implementation.

The province requires investors to proactively review the capacity of consulting units and construction contractors to have solutions to ensure adjustments, to avoid delays, adjustments, and extensions of project implementation time many times.

For local authorities of communes, Lam Dong province is requested to continue to do a good job of compensation and site clearance, especially the work of mobilizing people to quickly hand over the site, to serve the construction and completion of the project on schedule, put the project into operation soon, and avoid loss and waste.
