Vietnamese women are always the mainstay of the family.
Looking back at nearly a century of continuous growth and dedication of Vietnamese women and the Women's Union, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: "Vietnamese women have always been the support of the family, the solid rear, the brave frontline, the nucleus of solidarity and humanity in the community. That is the beauty of patriotism - starting from love for the family, spreading into love for the homeland, sublimating into revolutionary ideals".
Entering the era of three major transformations: green - digital - human resources, the General Secretary stated that at the center of these transformations are people, and women hold a particularly important position.

"In the 'digital economy', women are the biggest users of digital services in the family, the 'financial directors' of household consumption, and the ones who teach their children their first digital skills. In the 'green economy' and 'circular economy', women are the force that organizes green consumption, sorts waste, saves energy, and spreads sustainable lifestyles. In the 'care economy' of an aging society, women shoulder the majority of care for children, the elderly, and the sick - a social security ecosystem that needs to be seen as essential infrastructure," the General Secretary acknowledged, and affirmed that investing in women is investing in national productivity and the future of the nation.
The "strategic breakthroughs" of the women's movement
On this occasion, the General Secretary also suggested 10 key orientations and tasks as "strategic breakthroughs" of the Vietnamese women's movement for the 2025-2035 period, with a vision to 2045.
Firstly, building a new era Vietnamese woman who is patriotic - independent - brave - compassionate - intelligent - creative - responsible - talented - green.
Second, upgrade the movement "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" to "5 no's, 3 clean's, 3 safe's": safety - peace of mind - social security.

"Each province has at least five "Safe Houses for Women and Children" connected to 24/7 hotlines; each commune and ward has a community care service model with women as the core," said the General Secretary.
Third, make a breakthrough in digital transformation within the Association and for its members. Implement the movement "Each woman - a basic digital skill; each Association facility - a practical digital service".
Fourth, promote the economy from sustainable livelihoods to women-owned enterprises. Each province and city develops at least clusters of livelihood projects - cooperatives owned by women; each commune has one standard OCOP product of women; each year, the Association trains a core force of women entrepreneurs and women digital administrators.
Fifth, take care of preschool education, nutrition, and early child development, considering these as strategic priorities to improve labor productivity and population quality.
Sixth, protect women and children from gender-based violence, human trafficking, and high-tech crime.
Seventh, discover, train and use female cadres; increase the proportion of women participating in leadership and management at all levels, especially at the grassroots level.
Eighth, build a safe, healthy, and unique cultural environment. Honor the Vietnamese ao dai, culinary arts, and traditional crafts kept alive by women; preserve the Vietnamese language, family traditions, and etiquette; and oppose hybrid, offensive, and pragmatic manifestations.
Ninth, strengthen people-to-people diplomacy and international integration.
Tenth, strongly innovate the Association's operating methods: closely follow the grassroots, rely on data, measure impact; replicate good models, eliminate formal activities; ensure that every penny spent and every hour of activity brings practical value to women and families.
The General Secretary requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front, organizations, the business community and the whole society to continue to pay attention to, create conditions for, and closely coordinate with the Vietnam Women's Union.
In particular, focus on perfecting policies on female labor, maternity, care services, social housing for workers, kindergartens in industrial parks; create a safe working environment, free of harassment and discrimination; promote a culture of respect for women and honoring care workers.
Believing that there is no real gender equality without the cooperation of men, the General Secretary noted that Vietnamese men - husbands, fathers, and sons - should be allies and companions of women on every path.
"The road ahead still has many big tasks. But we have greater faith. Faith in the heroic tradition of Vietnamese women; in the intelligence and mettle of women in the new era; in the strength of the Women's Union that has been tempered through challenges; in the leadership of the Party, the participation of the entire political system, and the consensus of the people," the General Secretary emphasized.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the Vietnam Women's Union.
