Summary of the implementation of Khan Academy (KAV) open school in the province

Mr. Kieu Huy Hoa, Director of KAV program, informed about the results of program implementation in the province.

Khan Academy is a completely free online learning application supported by the Khan Academy Vietnam Program to be deployed in the province. Up to now, Tuyen Quang is one of the leading provinces in effectively implementing the KAV open school model, reaching more than 73 million minutes with over 82% of students in the whole province participating in learning.

The exercises on KAV are designed to closely follow the 2018 General Education program, linked to real-life situations, helping students apply knowledge and develop thinking skills; many students improve their math learning ability and have progressed in their learning results in class; KAV makes an important contribution to promoting the self-study movement of students in school; many students actively learn more about topics outside the program such as: Internet safety, AI in education, Math in English...

Khan Academy's foreign experts interact with teachers and students of Trung Mon Primary School.

The leaders of the Department of Education and Training have acknowledged the positive results that the KAV Program has brought. At the same time, they affirmed that this is a very effective online teaching and learning platform, encouraging teachers and students to actively use the Khan Academy platform more. This will form habits and improve students' self-study skills, which are important skills that help students not only progress in the present but also lay the foundation for their future success.

Delegates and teachers attending the meeting discussed the advantages and difficulties in implementing the KAV open school model in each school and locality and proposed solutions to further improve the quality and effectiveness of the program.

Previously, representatives of the Khan Academy Vietnam (KAV) Program conducted a field survey at Trung Mon Primary School and exchanged English with teachers and students of the school.
