On the morning of August 22, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association held an information meeting about the 1st Vietnamese Rice Noodle Festival in 2025 with the theme "Delicious dishes from Vermicelli".

The event takes place from October 16 to 19 at 23-9 Park, Ben Thanh Ward and is open to visitors free of charge. This is the first time Ho Chi Minh City has organized a culinary festival specializing in rice noodles.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, the program will bring to the public a unique culinary culture space, honoring traditional values ​​as well as creativity in Vietnamese cuisine.

“The 2025 Vietnamese Rice Festival is expected to become a cultural and culinary highlight of the city, not only introducing special dishes made from vermicelli but also recreating many experiential spaces combining tradition and modernity. The organizers expect the event to attract about 100,000 visitors,” said Ms. Khanh.

With the theme "Delicious dishes from vermicelli", the event will introduce dozens of typical vermicelli dishes from all three regions, from Hanoi vermicelli with grilled pork, Hai Phong vermicelli with perch, Hue beef vermicelli, crab vermicelli, Can Tho vermicelli with fish sauce, Nha Trang vermicelli with fish sauce, Soc Trang vermicelli with broth... In addition, there are other famous dishes made from rice noodles such as pho, hu tieu, banh hoi, banh tam.

The organizers said the festival is expected to gather 100-150 booths, displaying and introducing vermicelli flour products, fresh vermicelli, rice noodles, processed spices and many side dishes. Visitors can learn about the traditional rice noodle making process, enjoy on-site dishes, interact with culinary experts, and participate in many cultural and entertainment activities.

Mr. Trinh Nguyen Hung Dung, owner of Pho Phat Tai brand - a startup in the field of culinary tourism, said that the unit will bring traditional beef pho.

"This year's location at 23-9 Park is very convenient. We expect the festival's appeal to attract a large number of international tourists and city residents to attend and experience it," said Mr. Dung.

Phat Tai will bring the image of "Ganh Pho" on a mobile vehicle to domestic and foreign tourists.

Regarding the issue of food hygiene and safety, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh emphasized that this work is very important and is given top priority. The organizing committee has coordinated with reputable noodle brands to provide clean noodles for food stalls to serve diners at the event.

"We also closely coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety from requesting booth units to fully prepare necessary documents and procedures when participating in the event to organizing instructions on food safety compliance and conducting actual inspections during the 4 days of the event. Booths will also publicly post prices for customers to know" - Ms. Khanh added.
