Ho Chi Minh City: Smart Healthcare Application in Healthcare for People in Thanh An Island Commune

On the morning of November 8, Associate Professor, Dr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , said that the Ho Chi Minh City health sector is preparing to bring modern X-ray machines, integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) software, to the Thanh An Island Commune Health Station (Can Gio District).

Accordingly, digital images of X-ray films after being analyzed by AI are uploaded to the PACS (picture archiving and transmission) system of the health sector, helping young doctors who take turns working at Thanh An island commune to consult with leading experts from the end-line hospitals of Ho Chi Minh City.

The new generation X-ray machine integrated with AI for lung X-ray diagnosis will be equipped for the Thanh An Island Commune Medical Station, Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City.

This X-ray machine and AI software were created by the authors, who are young intellectuals from Ho Chi Minh City living in Australia (brothers Tran Dang Minh Tri and Tran Dang Dinh Ang), and have been recognized by many countries with advanced healthcare.

The authors wish to present this intellectual product to the people of Thanh An island commune as a gift from young intellectuals who were born, raised and studied in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporters on the morning of November 8, Mr. Tran Dang Minh Tri said that he is expected to return to Vietnam on November 18 to present the above gift. He also confirmed that his AI software for reading chest X-rays has been applied in 400 hospitals in Australia and the UK. "In the context of a shortage of radiologists, AI in chest X-rays helps increase the accuracy of doctors when diagnosing images and helps read X-ray results faster," Mr. Tran Dang Minh Tri said, adding that this software is being used for the first time in Vietnam.

Brothers Tran Dang Minh Tri and Tran Dang Dinh Ang have successfully researched and applied AI in embryo selection in artificial insemination (transferred to another company). Currently, both are developing AI in X-ray imaging diagnosis, CT-Scanner of the brain (stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury)...

According to the leader of the Department of Health, currently, 4 young doctors who have registered for the first rotation to work at Thanh An island commune are urgently approaching and receiving the transfer of how to use this new generation X-ray machine to promptly put it into use as soon as the machine is transported and installed at Thanh An commune health station.

In addition, the Information Technology Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health is also urgently coordinating with a company specializing in PACS systems to come to the island commune to install the PACS system, which is also the second meaningful gift for the island commune to complete a process of applying high technology in image diagnosis for the island commune's Health Station.
