From today until further notice, the Department will only directly accept applications for issuance, renewal, and re-issuance (lost) of car driving licenses with less than 15 days remaining. For motorbikes, priority will be given to re-issuance for cases of re-issuance due to loss or damage to the point of being unusable. Applications will be received directly after people register via Call Center 1081.

The Department of Transport recommends that people can carry out the procedure for issuing and renewing driving licenses through the National Public Service Portal online if the license is valid for less than 15 days. This form is implemented in provinces and cities nationwide.

According to the Department of Transport, people with valid driving licenses can still use them normally. If the license has not expired, it is not necessary to change to a new class according to the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order.

Up to now, Ho Chi Minh City still has about 150,000 driver's licenses in stock; based on the actual situation, every day staff works 12 hours overtime to print about 4,000 driver's licenses.

Regarding the transfer of tasks from the Department to the police force, the City Department of Transport affirmed that it will closely coordinate so that the transition process takes place smoothly, without interrupting the issuance and renewal of driving licenses, ensuring the rights of people and businesses.
