On September 4, the series of events of the 19th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair 2025 (ITE HCMC 2025); Export Forum 2025 and the event "Connecting international supply chains" officially opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
This is a series of key events jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
This series of events is considered a driving force to create momentum and outstanding potential for the tourism - trade - investment and export sectors in the context of international integration, contributing to repositioning the tourism and trade brand of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that along with the growth momentum of world tourism, Vietnam tourism will continue to thrive strongly in 2025. In the first 6 months of the year, the number of international visitors to Vietnam increased by over 20%, while domestic visitors maintained their recovery momentum. It is expected that in 2025, Vietnam's tourism industry will welcome about 25 million international visitors, serve over 110 million domestic visitors, and total revenue from tourism will reach an estimated VND1.2 million billion. The direct contribution of tourism to GDP is expected to reach 9-10%, affirming the position of tourism as an important growth driver in the context of many economic fluctuations.
This year's ITE HCMC is truly a special milestone. The position of HCMC after the merger can be said to be a new "super city, lighthouse", playing the leading role of a regional economic - cultural - tourism center.

According to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the ever-changing tourism trend, we need to proactively "choose locations, choose fields, choose events", taking advantage of the country's major events, especially the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, as an opportunity to stimulate tourism, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. Along with that, promoting through cinema through international film crews will help Vietnam's image spread strongly around the world. Combining with the cultural industry through performing arts with creative and modern programs will continue to affirm its role as a new driving force for tourism and the creative economy.
Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, emphasized that ITE HCMC 2025 is not only a place to showcase the cultural beauty, heritage and attractive tourism products of Vietnam, but also a bridge for tourism to become a driving force for trade and investment. Millions of international visitors not only bring back memories of the country and people of Vietnam, but they also become "trade ambassadors" for Vietnamese goods, contributing to expanding the export market.

In parallel, the series of events of the Export Forum and the event "Connecting international supply chains" focus on connecting global supply chains, helping Vietnamese enterprises participate more deeply in the production network and international value chain.
Ms. Phan Thi Thang said that the three events are not only a meeting place but also the beginning of new successes. At the same time, she believes that tourism will become a driving force for trade and investment; and trade and investment will become the foundation for economic prosperity.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - affirmed that organizing 3 events at the same time is a symbol of harmony in development strategy and vision. This is also a testament to the City's commitment to always accompany and create the most favorable environment for domestic and international enterprises to develop together, spread good values, and build a green, sustainable and creative economic - tourism - trade ecosystem.
Previously, on September 3, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the City Department of Tourism held the opening ceremony of the 12th General Assembly of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO). The event gathered representatives of leaders of TPO member cities, experts, managers and tourism organizations from many countries and territories around the world.
In addition, the opening art program - Vietnam Night with the theme "The Flow of Quintessence" also took place on the evening of September 3. The event is a cultural bridge, where the quintessence of Vietnamese tourism and cuisine is introduced to delegates, guests, senior leaders of Vietnam and international countries with profound experiences about Vietnamese people and culture.
ITE HCMC 2025 officially took place from September 4-6, bringing the message of "Sustainable Tourism - Vibrant Experience" to more than 500 businesses, 250 high-end buyers and tens of thousands of visitors. Meanwhile, the Export Forum and the event "Connecting the international supply chain" opened the door to trade, with more than 450 distribution channels, purchasing delegations from 60 countries and territories, exploring more than 12,000 products of Vietnam's key industries.
