On the afternoon of August 13, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City - the standing agency of the Traffic Safety Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, has just instructed the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to deploy and perfect the Traffic Safety Committee at the commune level and issue operating regulations.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the ward or commune shall be the Head of the Traffic Safety Committee at the commune level; the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level or the Head of the Economic Department (commune), the Head of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department (ward) depending on the local characteristics shall be the Standing Deputy Head of the Committee; the Chief of the Commune Police shall be the Deputy Head of the Committee.

The standing agency of the Commune Traffic Safety Committee is the Economic Department (commune) or the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department (ward).

The Commune Traffic Safety Committee is responsible for advising and coordinating the implementation of solutions to ensure traffic order and safety, overcome traffic jams, propagate traffic laws, report on accidents and traffic jams, as well as direct rescue when necessary.

For Con Dao special zone, the organization and operating regulations will be flexible according to the actual situation, ensuring traffic safety management requirements.

Commune-level People's Committees are required to urgently complete the reorganization of the Traffic Safety Committee, issue operating regulations and send related decisions to the Department of Construction (through the Traffic Safety Committee Office) before August 20, to synthesize and report to the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
