Ho Chi Minh City prepares for online learning if storms become more complicated

On September 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training issued a document requesting schools to prepare online learning plans if the storm develops complicatedly.

The above requirement was stated by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City in its guidelines for proactively responding to storms and floods at educational establishments in Ho Chi Minh City on September 29.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City , it is currently the rainy and stormy season, with many strong storms, complex developments, and the possibility of affecting the Ho Chi Minh City area.

Heavy rains caused by storms pose a very high risk of flash floods, landslides and widespread flooding, especially in areas with steep terrain and weak soil.

To proactively respond, minimize damage, and ensure the safety of people and property at educational establishments in the city, the department recommends that school principals closely monitor the developments of storms and floods, maintain regular contact with authorities and local rescue forces to promptly respond in case of incidents.

The document of the department also requested schools to urgently develop repair plans; Reinforce structures at risk of being unsafe;

Coordinate with specialized units to trim the green tree system inside the school; Check the drainage system and power grid to ensure the safety of students, teachers and administrators before storms and floods occur.

The Department also requires schools to prepare online learning plans and plans to postpone school schedules during complicated stormy days (if any);

Prepare plans to evacuate students and teachers to safe places; move documents and equipment to safe locations before storms and floods; Proactively coordinate with local authorities to receive professional support, materials and equipment when situations arise.

Directing departmental groups to organize specialized and extracurricular activities for students on natural disaster prevention; promptly remedying damage; cleaning and sanitizing schools/classrooms immediately after storms to ensure safety, cleanliness, and disease prevention at the unit...
