Heavy rain in Ho Chi Minh City and the South

The meteorological agency said that on the morning of August 21, in Ho Chi Minh City, there were places with 102mm of rain. Besides Ho Chi Minh City, there were also many other places with heavy rain.

From last night to this morning, August 21, a system of moist clouds from the sea has moved in, causing prolonged heavy rain in many areas in the South.

According to satellite data, the Southeast, South Central and Central Highlands regions are the most affected.

In the South, moderate to heavy rain occurs in many places, concentrated in the center and east of Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap , Vinh Long... Other localities have rain later.

In the South Central and Central Highlands, heavy rain in the eastern provinces of Dak Lak , Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Lam Dong...

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the night of August 20 to the early morning of August 21, many places had rain of over 60mm, notably Tan Lap (Tuyen Quang province) 116.6mm, Phu Thong ( Thai Nguyen province) 61.2mm, Binh Thang (HCMC) 102.2mm.

It is forecasted that this afternoon and evening, August 21, the mountainous areas of the North will continue to have moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally over 100mm. Other areas from the North to Thanh Hoa, the South Central Coast, the Central Highlands and the South will still have showers, with common rainfall of 15-30mm, in some places over 80mm.
