On October 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that it had just developed a plan for sustainable management of the Covid-19 epidemic in the area in the new situation.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health recommends that people should not be subjective or negligent when Covid-19 turns into a group B infectious disease. Because the virus can still mutate, Covid-19 surveillance will not only be on cases but will continue to be integrated into the surveillance system for other respiratory pathogens, to track virus variants. The treatment regimen for Covid-19 remains the same as it is now, unchanged when the disease turns into group B. People with Covid-19 must wear a mask for 10 days from the date of onset of the disease or from the date of positive test results.

Continue to vaccinate Covid-19 free of charge in 2023, prioritizing vaccination of high-risk groups such as the elderly and those with underlying diseases. From October 20, 2023, patients coming for examination and treatment of Covid-19 will not be covered by the state budget, but will instead be covered by health insurance according to current regulations; in case the patient does not participate in health insurance, he/she will have to pay for it himself/herself.

The Department of Health also advised the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to issue a decision to dissolve the 3-storey Field Hospital No. 13 in Binh Chanh District.
