Tran Bom returns to the screen with his first leading role in a movie.

After 11 years since the reality TV show Dad! Where are we going?, Tran Tu (nickname Tran Bom) – son of People’s Artist Tran Luc – officially returned as an actor. He took on his first male lead role in the movie Don’t be sad, Grandma, scheduled to premiere on December 12.

In the film, Tran Tu plays Tien - the eldest grandson of Nga Tu's grandmother (played by People's Artist Thanh Hoa). Tien is a young man who grew up in poverty, orphaned, living with his hard-working grandmother.

Sharing about his first foray into cinema, Tran Tu said that he used to love the seventh art but “acting in a film is a completely different journey”: “I feel both honored and pressured. But I will try my best so that the audience can see a mature Tran Tu, no longer the mischievous boy like in Dad, where are we going? ”.

Notably, in this project, Tran Tu was instructed in acting by his father - People's Artist Tran Luc - along with many other young artists.

The first poster of the film has just been released, imbued with the atmosphere of Hanoi's Old Quarter with French architecture, rustic tea stalls and golden autumn sunshine. The image of Tien helping his grandmother soak her feet, and her stroking her grandson's head as compliments and encouragement, promises to touch the hearts of viewers.

The film is still keeping the identities of some actors secret and is completing post-production.

In 2014, Tran Tu - when he was only 6 years old - and his father, director and People's Artist Tran Luc - participated in the first season of the reality TV show Dad! Where are we going?. The character "Tran Bom" at that time quickly won the audience's sympathy because of his cleverness, quick wit and humor.

After the show, Tran Tu withdrew from entertainment activities to focus on studying. At the age of 17, the boy "successfully went through puberty" with a handsome appearance, more mature and somewhat calmer.
