Tran Thanh Luc's opponent in the final was Turkish player Tayfun Tasdemir. On the way to the final, the Vietnamese player overcame many strong opponents. Among them, he defeated world number 1 Dick Jaspers in the semi-finals.

Tasdemir also had an equally impressive performance. In the semi-finals, he dramatically overcame his compatriot Tolgahan Kiraz to enter the championship match.

And the final match took place as expected with enough suspense and tension. Although Tran Thanh Luc had the advantage from the beginning, the gap was not too far with the scores 11-10, 15-11. After that, he launched long series of points to end the first round with a score difference of 26-13.

However, this advantage did not give him an easy game in the second half. Tasdemir came back strongly, creating a series of 7 points to shorten the score to 20-26.

The Turkish player continued to chase and significantly narrowed the gap to 36-40, 38-43. This is when the drama was pushed to its climax.

Tran Thanh Luc reached 47 points then 49 points, just 1 point short of the championship. However, his error in handling caused him to miss the opportunity. Tasdemir immediately took advantage of the opportunity, creating a series of 7 points to narrow the gap to 47-49. However, the Turkish player could not extend his scoring streak.

Tran Thanh Luc, in his second chance, made no mistake. He scored the decisive point to win a thrilling 50-47 victory and win the 2025 Bogota 3-cushion carom billiards World Cup.

This is the first time in his career that Tran Thanh Luc has won the World Cup. At the same time, he is also the third Vietnamese player to do this after Tran Quyet Chien and Tran Duc Minh.
