Department of Health talks about forecast that Ho Chi Minh City will lack medicine to treat hand, foot and mouth disease
According to Dr. Du Tuan Quy, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Neurology, Children's Hospital 1, hand, foot and mouth disease is mostly mild, but if not detected and treated promptly, the disease can cause many complications such as encephalitis, myocarditis leading to respiratory failure and death.
"However, before serious complications occur, children will show symptoms such as fever that does not go down, waking up suddenly in the middle of the night... At this time, parents need to take their children to the hospital immediately," the doctor noted.
