The circulation of storm No. 5 at the end of August made the only road to Giang Pang village, Son Luong commune seem even farther away. Although the route has been opened, the 10km from the center of the old Sung Do commune to Giang Pang is still mostly dirt road, steep, slippery, and the most difficult to travel in the early morning or late afternoon.
Falling off a bike, walking 2 km and being far from home. Lack of facilities… are the difficulties that two young teachers “living in the countryside” Trieu Mai Anh and Song Me Chung, Sung Do Kindergarten have to face. However, the journey of “sowing letters” is still quietly persistent and attached.
Teacher Trieu Mai Anh shared: Since becoming a preschool teacher, we have decided to try our best to devote ourselves to education in this remote and difficult area. Previously, it was Lang Manh school and now Giang Pang school, no regrets. Only returning home once a week to be with our families, even though sometimes we feel sad, homesick, and homesick, we are always proud of our profession, of our dream of bringing "letters" to children. That is also our dream and aspiration since we were students.
Manh Village and Giang Pang Village are the most remote villages of Son Luong Commune with a unique and dangerous road, no national electricity grid, unstable phone and internet signals, 100% Mong ethnic people, poor, limited education and awareness.
Perhaps because of that, the two young teachers also have "additional" difficulties from motivating and mobilizing children to go to class, instructing parents on how to cook hygienically and nutritiously, to teaching, caring for and training children.
We strive, try, by all means so that children in the highlands can go to school, have access to modern educational methods, and develop their abilities like those in the lowlands.

In addition to teaching in class, the two young teachers regularly visit, talk and create good relationships with families with young children and with villagers, thereby doing a good job of propaganda, mobilization and raising awareness about the important role of education.
At night, after a quick meal, the teachers research, create, and take advantage of the "wave" to build digital lessons and child-centered educational methods from the few available tools and equipment. Besides teaching knowledge, the teachers also integrate lessons on ethics, history, and national culture into each lesson in a lively way; enhance education on patriotic traditions and life skills through extracurricular activities...

Ms. Chung added: “Although the job is full of difficulties and challenges, it is in the midst of difficulties that we find joy in witnessing our students grow, change and develop every day; we feel immense happiness from the achievements we bring to society.”
Like the two young teachers Trieu Mai Anh and Song Me Chung, young doctor Nguyen Duong Quyen - Deputy Head of the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poison (ICU), General Hospital No. 3 is one of 20 outstanding young intellectuals to be awarded by the former Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union at the end of 2024, always devoted to the medical career. Youthful strength and love for the profession, since becoming a doctor, doctor Quyen has worked at the ICU - the emergency unit, resuscitation and care for critically ill patients. The work is heavy, stressful, night shifts are frequent, there is a severe lack of sleep and "home-cooked" meals become a luxury; yet young doctor Nguyen Duong Quyen has been attached for 8 years.
Dr. Quyen shared: There are days when we are so busy that we don’t have time to think about eating. The most important thing is that the patient is stable, and the meal can wait.

After many years working in the ICU, Dr. Quyen also spent nearly 4 years and his enthusiasm to research and implement the initiative "Evaluating the treatment results of acute cerebral infarction in the period from 0 to 4.5 hours with the thrombolytic drug Alteplase" at the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poison, General Hospital No. 3.
From these studies, factors that can affect treatment results have been found. Providing a treatment regimen appropriate to clinical and paraclinical characteristics helps reduce the rate of disability and increase the ability to recover mobility. Doctor Quyen is also loved by patients and the people for his sharing, understanding, and closeness. Therefore, every trip to remote villages and hamlets to examine, treat, and provide free medicine of the hospital always has the participation of Doctor Quyen.
Every trip is a time when I realize that medicine is not just a job, but also a noble mission, helping those in need, especially those who do not have access to medical services - Doctor Quyen confided.
The stories of the young people above are convincing evidence, demonstrating the aspiration to devote and contribute of the young intellectuals of Lao Cai today to the cause of building and developing their homeland.
Not only good at their profession and solid in knowledge, young intellectuals also have a sense of responsibility towards the community, know how to share, dedicate themselves and aspire to contribute to the development of the country.
They are dedicated and enthusiastic cadres, civil servants and public employees in their professional work; brave armed forces soldiers, ready to sacrifice and contribute to the cause of protecting the Fatherland; dedicated engineers, doctors, teachers and even bachelors and masters who gave up their jobs in the city to return to their hometowns to start businesses and get rich...

Over the past years, the working environment and conditions for intellectuals in general and young intellectuals in particular in the province have been gradually improved; policies on employing, treating and honoring intellectuals have been given attention; the training and fostering of standardizing staff, attracting talents, implementing research programs, developing science - technology, culture and arts have been led and directed by all levels and sectors and achieved many positive results.
Thanks to that, over time, the young intellectual team has been increasing in both quantity and quality, with about 20% of the intellectual team in the whole province being young intellectuals. They have many qualities and abilities that will promote the development process; the Party and the State have placed their trust and expectations on them to become the core force, the key factor in the era of national development.

However, to turn the young intellectuals’ aspiration to contribute into action, support and facilitation from Party committees and authorities at all levels are needed. These are not only preferential policies on capital and land, but also trust, empowerment and creating an environment for them to develop their capacity.
Director of the Doan Luong Processing and General Trading Cooperative - Doan Thi Luong suggested: Our wish is that the government has more specific support policies for young people's start-up projects. It is necessary to continue to simplify administrative procedures, create a venture capital fund dedicated to youth and young intellectuals, and organize in-depth networking and consulting programs.
Young man Le Hoang Tung in Hong Tien residential group, Yen Bai ward hopes: I hope the province will have breakthrough policies on attracting and creating jobs for young intellectuals; there needs to be a worthy treatment regime, creating an open working environment, encouraging creativity and innovation - where talent is respected and maximized.
At the same time, it is also necessary to create conditions for young people to have a clear career development path, based on their capacity and dedication. It is possible to build a transparent and public capacity assessment process so that young people clearly understand the criteria, creating motivation to strive. In particular, there should be preferential policies for young intellectuals working in remote areas, so that they can confidently contribute.
Obviously, listening to and absorbing the expectations and creative ideas of young intellectuals, boldly assigning them important tasks, and at the same time building training programs and fostering in-depth knowledge are necessary. Because, when young intellectuals are empowered and trusted, they will have more motivation to continue to commit and contribute.
